What's Included With Your Cord of Firewood
Every order of firewood for sale from Armstrong Tree Service is cut, split, and seasoned before it reaches your property. We sell by the cord or half cord, and we're happy to walk you through how much wood a Tahoe winter actually requires for your stove or fireplace.
Here's what comes with every delivery:

- Split firewood cut to a standard size that fits most wood stoves and fireplaces
- Delivery and stacking at your home, garage, or wood shed
- Hardwood firewood and softwood options for longer, hotter burns
- Firewood sourced on-site from trees we remove, reducing waste
- Flexible order sizes from a partial load to a full cord

How We Deliver Your Seasoned Firewood
Ordering firewood should be simple, and we've built our process around getting you dry, ready-to-burn wood with as little hassle as possible. Here's how a typical delivery comes together from the first phone call to the stack by your door.
- Step 1
Tell Us What You Need
Call or request a quote and let us know how much firewood you need, whether that's a few bundles for the weekend or a full cord to get through the season.
- Step 2
We Confirm Your Cord Size and Price
We walk you through cord measurements so you know exactly what you're paying for, with no surprises when the truck shows up.
- Step 3
We Schedule Your Firewood Delivery
We set a delivery window that works around your schedule, including rush orders when an early cold snap catches you short.
- Step 4
We Stack and Leave It Ready
Our crew stacks the wood where you want it, whether that's a wood shed, a covered porch, or next to your stove, so it's ready to burn.
Local Firewood, Seasoned and Ready to Burn
Buying from a local firewood supplier instead of a gas station bundle means you get wood that actually burns clean and hot in our high elevation climate. Here's what sets our firewood apart from what you'll find elsewhere around the lake.
-
Properly Seasoned, Not Green
We season our firewood so it burns efficiently with less smoke and creosote buildup, which matters in enclosed cabins and homes with older chimneys.
-
Sourced From Local Removals
Much of our firewood comes from pine and fir trees we remove across the basin, so you're getting wood suited to this climate instead of trucked-in stock.
-
Delivery From a Trusted Tree Company
As a certified arborist-led tree company already working in your neighborhood, we can often combine firewood delivery with other yard work on the same visit.
Signs You're Running Low on Firewood for the Season
Tahoe winters arrive fast, and running short on dry wood mid-storm is a problem nobody wants at 7,000 feet with snow piling against the door. A few signs tell you it's time to restock before the next cold front rolls in.
Between the elevation, the dry summers, and the snow that can start as early as October, keeping a seasoned supply on hand through the winter just makes sense for anyone heating with wood around the lake.
- Your current wood supply is damp, green, or smells moldy
- You're burning through a stack faster than expected during cold snaps
- Your wood shed or garage stack is down to the last few rows
- You're clearing pine needle buildup near your woodpile and want it moved
- Heavy snow is in the forecast and driveway snow removal is already on your mind
- You'd rather order a full cord now than make repeat trips later in the season

Firewood FAQs
Here are answers to some of the questions we hear most from homeowners ordering firewood around the lake.
How much wood is in a cord of firewood?
A full cord measures 4 feet by 4 feet by 8 feet when stacked, which works out to 128 cubic feet of wood. We also sell half cords and smaller loads if you only need enough to get through a weekend or a short cold snap.
What does seasoned firewood mean, and why does it matter?
Seasoned firewood has been dried for several months to reduce its moisture content, usually down to around 20 percent or less. Burning seasoned wood instead of green wood means a hotter, cleaner fire with less smoke and far less creosote buildup in your chimney.
Do you offer firewood delivery to Nevada side communities like Kingsbury or Glenbrook?
Yes. We deliver firewood throughout the Tahoe basin on both sides of the state line, including Kingsbury, Glenbrook, Cave Rock, and Round Hill Village, along with our California side service area.
Can I schedule firewood delivery along with pine needle cleanup or snow removal?
Many of our customers combine services during the same visit. If you need firewood stacked along with pine needle cleanup around your woodpile or driveway snow removal before a storm, just mention it when you call and we'll coordinate the work.
